The Nursery school, a first school, plays a fundamental part in the development of the child and his or her schooling future. It is the first step in the acquisition of the common foundation of knowledge and skills. It is an excellent place for the appropriation of language and the language of instruction.
The main objective of the nursery school is to allow each child to have a successful first school experience. French nursery school is one of the few nursery schools in the world to offer a program established by a Ministry of Education which is mandatory.
Registration is from 3 years. There are 3 classes of nursery school class that make up Cycle 1, the cycle of early learning:
- the “petite section” from 3 to 4 years old
- the “moyenne section” from 4 to 5 years old
- the “grande section” from 5 to 6 years old
During these three years of Nursery school, we offer children activities that focus on the structuring of time and space, as well as the development of motor skills and socialisation. An important part of the teaching is devoted to the development of language (necessary for communication and future learning in elementary school).
Finally, creativity allows the child to express all aspects of his/her personality so that he/she takes his or her place as an individual in the class group.
